SHBG (Sex Hormone Binding Globulin)(SHBG/245) , Biotin conjugate , 0.1mg / mL
Recognizes a protein of 45 kDa , identified as SHBG. It functions as an androgen transport protein , but may also be involved in receptor-mediated processes. Each dimer binds one molecule of steroid. It is specific for 5-alpha-dihydrotestosterone , testosterone , and 17-beta-estradiol. SHBG regulates the plasma metabolic clearance rate of steroid hormones by controlling their plasma concentration. In testis , it is synthesized by the Sertoli cells , secreted into the lumen of the seminiferous tubule and transported to the epididymis.Primary antibodies are available purified , or with a selection of fluorescent CF® Dyes and other labels. CF® Dyes offer exceptional brightness and photostability. Note: Conjugates of blue fluorescent dyes like CF®405S and CF®405M are not recommended for detecting low abundance targets , because blue dyes have lower fluorescence and can give higher non-specific background than other dye colors.
