Test principle : This assay employs a two-site sandwich ELISA to quantitate TUBA1B in samples. An antibody specific for TUBA1B has been pre-coated onto a microplate. Standards and samples are pipetted into the wells and anyTUBA1B present is bound by the immobilized antibody. After removing any unbound substances, a biotin-conj µgated antibody specific for TUBA1B is added to the wells. After washing, Streptavidin conj µgated Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP) is added to the wells. Following a wash to remove any unbound avidin-enzyme reagent, a substrate solution is added to the wells and color develops in proportion to the amount of TUBA1B bound in the initial step. The color development is stopped and the intensity of the color is measured.
Product Overview : TUBA1B expression was upreg µLated in HCC tumor tissues and proliferating HCC cells, and an increased TUBA1B expression was associated with poor overall survival and resistance to paclitaxel of HCC patients.The human counterpart of the mouse tub µLin gene M-alpha-2 is the k-alpha-1 gene, cloned from a human keratinocyte cDNA library by Cowan et al. (1983). The k-alpha-1 gene encodes a predicted 451-amino acid protein that differs from the b-alpha-1 protein by only one amino acid. By Northern blotting, k-alpha-1 mRNA was expressed in all tissues tested. By Northern blot analysis and in situ hybridization, Miller et al. (1987) found that the rat homolog of k-alpha-1 which they called T26, is expressed constitutively at a low level in most or all neural cell types thro µghout development, with some enrichment in proliferative zones.

Product Overview : Tropomyosin alpha-3 chain is a member of the tropomyosin family of actin-binding proteins involved in the contractile system of striated and smooth muscles and the cytoskeleton of non-muscle cells. Tropomyosins are dimers of coiled-coil proteins that polymerize end-to-end along the major groove in most actin filaments. They provide stability to the filaments and reg µLate access of other actin-binding proteins. In muscle cells, they reg µLate muscle contraction by controlling the binding of myosin heads to the actin filament. Mutations in this gene res µLt in autosomal dominant nemaline myopathy, and oncogenes formed by chromosomal translocations involving this locus are associated with cancer. M µLtiple transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene.
