Product Overview : The alpha-macroglob µLin (AM) superfamily of proteins contains both complement components and protease inhibitors, including A2M and A2ML1. AM proteins display a unique trap mechanism of inhibition, by which the AM inhibitor undergoes a major conformational change upon its cleavage by a protease, thus trapping the protease and blocking it from subsequent substrate binding. This protein has a peptide stretch, called the 'bait region' which contains specific cleavage sites for different proteinases. Product Overview : An inherited hemorrhagic diathesis due to plasmin inhibitor deficiency was described by Koie et al. (1978) in a 25-year-old Okinawa man. He had suffered prolonged bleeding and ecchymoses after minor trauma, spontaneous joint hemorrhage, and one episode of hemothorax. The bleeding episodes were reduced in frequency and severity by an antiplasminic dr µg. Laboratory abnormalities were limited to shortened e µglob µLin-lysis time and whole blood clot lysis time. No circ µLating alpha-2-plasmin inhibitor was found in the plasma. Even tho µgh only one case was observed, autosomal recessive inheritance was undoubted because the parents were consanguineous and both had plasma antiplasmin levels about half normal. The authors called the condition Miyasato disease after the proband's surname.

Test principle : This assay employs the competitive enzyme immunoassay technique. The microtiter plate provided in this kit has been pre-coated with an antibody specific to AHSG-Ab. Standards or samples are then added to the appropriate microtiter plate wells with a Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP)-conj µgated AHSG-Ab and incubated. The competitive inhibition reaction is launched between with HRP labeled AHSG-Ab and unlabeled AHSG-Ab with the antibody. A substrate solution is added to the wells and the color develops in opposite to the amount of AHSG-Ab in the sample. The color development is stopped and the intensity of the color is measured.

Product Overview : The alpha 1c- Adrenergic Receptor, also known as alpha 1a-adrenoceptor, is activated by epinephrine and norepinephrine. This receptor mediates calcium release upon ligand binding. The alpha 1-c adrenoceptor is one of three subtypes of alpha 1-adrenergic receptor (alpha 1 c/a, alpha 1b, and alpha 1d). The alpha 1c receptor couples to phospholipase C via a GTP-binding protein insensitive to pertussis toxin. Three isoforms are generated by alternative splicing. However, the corresponding isoforms of the protein have similar ligand-binding properties, effector coupling, and tissue distribution.
