Product Overview : Tumor necrosis factor ligand superfamily member 13 is a member of the tumor necrosis factor (TNF) ligand family. Expressed at high levels in transformed cell lines, cancers of colon, thyroid, lymphoid tissues and specifically expressed in monocytes and macrophages. This protein is a ligand for TNFRSF17/BCMA, a member of the TNF receptor family. This protein and its receptor are both found to be important for B cell development. In vitro experiments s µggested that this protein may be able to induce apoptosis thro µgh its interaction with other TNF receptor family proteins such as TNFRSF6/FAS and TNFRSF14/HVEM. Three alternatively spliced transcript variants of this gene encoding distinct isoforms have been reported.

Test principle : This assay employs a two-site sandwich ELISA to quantitate ADAM12 in samples. An antibody specific for ADAM12 has been pre-coated onto a microplate. Standards and samples are pipetted into the wells and anyADAM12 present is bound by the immobilized antibody. After removing any unbound substances, a biotin-conj µgated antibody specific for ADAM12 is added to the wells. After washing, Streptavidin conj µgated Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP) is added to the wells. Following a wash to remove any unbound avidin-enzyme reagent, a substrate solution is added to the wells and color develops in proportion to the amount of ADAM12 bound in the initial step. The color development is stopped and the intensity of the color is measured.
Product Overview : ADAM12 encodes a member of the ADAM (a disintegrin and metalloprotease) protein family. Members of this family are membrane-anchored proteins structurally related to snake venom disintegrins, and have been implicated in a variety of biological processes involving cell-cell and cell-matrix interactions, including fertilization, muscle development, and neurogenesis. This gene has two alternatively spliced transcripts : a shorter secreted form and a longer membrane-bound form. Similarly to myogenin, a marker of early muscle differentiation, mouse meltrin-alpha is expressed in neonatal muscle and bone, and its expression increases dramatically in response to the induction of differentiation. Immunocytochemical localization and functional expression studies s µggested that meltrin-alpha may be involved in myotube formation.

Product Overview : A Disintegrin And Metalloprotease 10 is a ADAM family member that cleaves many proteins including TNF-alpha and E-cadherin. Members of the ADAM family are cell surface proteins with a unique structure possessing both potential adhesion and protease domains. ADAM10 is a sheddase, and has a broad specificity for peptide hydrolysis reactions. New data on the ADAM10 shedding of ephrin/eph complex associated with Eph on one cell surface has determined that ADAM10 cleaves ephrin, within the ephrin/eph complex, formed between two cell surfaces. When ephrin is freed from the opposing cell, the entire ephrin/eph complex is endocytosed. This shedding in trans had not been previously shown, but may well be involved in other shedding events.
